Thumbtack - Emails & Push Notifications

Business as (un)usual.

I’m not one of those writers who turns their nose up at emails or push notifications. Every touch point is a chance to make an impact, connect, and be helpful.


Let’s start with some emails.

Thumbtack guides homeowners through each season, showing them which projects to complete and when. This seasonal campaign was an opportunity to educate our customers on the importance of home maintenance. It was a nice change from the typical “book! hire! spend money!” strategy.

Onboarding and activation refresh.

Thumbtack’s brand positioning has evolved quite a bit in the last few years. We’re more focused on “home,” and our marketing communications needed messaging updates. I worked closely with my design partner to audit, rework, and refresh these emails so that they’d highlight our brand evolution while driving higher CTRs and CTOs.

Ahhh, push it.

Push notifications get strong engagement at Thumbtack. Marketing strategy + strong copy (and testing) = big conversions.
